The case
Cozi is the incumbent: color-coded calendar, shopping lists, meal planner, twenty million registered users, a name American parents recognize. The free tier is ad-supported and now caps how far ahead you can see. Capture is manual. Follow-through is not a feature. It is still the default answer in a lot of U.S. kitchens.
The U.S. reference product. If a PTA parent says “just use Cozi,” this is what they mean.
- Best for
- Households that want a shared calendar and lists at near-zero cost
- Not for
- Parents who need school paper to become an event, or an errand to complete itself
- Pricing (U.S.)
- Free with ads; Gold $39/year; Max $79/year
- Platforms
- iOS · Android · Web
Where it wins
- The brand U.S. families already trust
- Web plus mobile, color per person, meal planner
- Cheap Gold plan if you just want ads gone
Where it lags
- Ads on the free tier, in a product children open
- Free calendar horizon is limited
- Almost no AI capture; no execution
