Lindy builds agents on an inbox. alfred_ lives in the background of mail and calendar. Superhuman and Shortwave make the client faster. Motion rebuilds a professional day. Copilot is Microsoft’s word for a seat in the Office graph. Manus is a computer-use agent that just survived a reversed Meta deal.
Parents will try all of them on school email. Some will work, once, for one adult. The failure mode is always the same: the other parent is not in the loop, the child is not a user, and the vendor’s permission model is an employee, not a household.
File them as work
On the Assistant Index these products sit in Work or Scheduling. They can lead those specialist lanes. They do not lead Household. That is not a slight. It is how you keep a ranking honest when a $50/seat agent has a better demo than a $8/month family calendar.
Computer use is a work primitive
Clicking through a browser is a gift for expense reports and CRMs. It is a liability for a pediatric portal with a stored card. Muse’s approval gates are the consumer version of this fight. Work agents will keep getting more autonomous. Households need a slower yes.
